Theatre director and artistic director of the Incidents Mémorables company, and an Associated Artist at La Filature, Georges Gagneré has explored for several years the relationships between acting, set design and the digital arts. With Pascal Baltazar, his idea is to use the “silhouette” films of Lotte Reiniger in a performance where sounds, played live, interact with other pre-recorded sounds. A pioneer in the history of cinema with the first full length animated feature, Aventures du Prince Ahmed, the German filmmaker made films mostly inspired by stories filled with cut up paper silhouettes. She is still considered the ranking expert of animated ombre chinoise figures on the big screen.
