In France in the Middle Ages, there existed a popular character called the Mad King, elected once a year. He had the right to make fun of the important people of this world, but for one day only. Today we have the Count of Bouderbala, which according to Arab etymology, means “the Count in rags.” And this new modern Count laughs at everything, delivering at a frenetic, headspinning pace his interpretation of the world. He takes on society, its riches, its mistakes, its despicable acts. His approach, voluntarily off the wall, provocative, swings wildly between cynicism, self-mockery and tenderness. A former professional basketball player in the USA, a special- ed teacher and a slameur, Sami, AKA the Comte de Bouderbala, a unique artist with an unusual background, invites us into his incisive, percussive and very funny universe.
