Valéry Warnotte and Charlie Windelschmidt – Cie Dérézo

Enthusiastically continuing their immersion into the Mulhouse terrain, the 2W (Valéry Warnotte and Charlie Windelschmidt) propose for TRANS(E) two exceptional evenings. Continuing with the unique and abundant work of the Dérézo company, like Microfictions – le Repas ou les Habitants – Cinq tableaux sonores, which were presented previously at La Filature, they now reveal the end result of their les Habitants project. With audiences starting from different neighborhoods in the city*, following an urban route which will include three “theatre stations” and ending in the foyer of La Filature, they are bringing together more than fifty artists and residents to walk through this custom-made piece, which they will control and direct. A giant parade in which genres and shapes, disciplines and aesthetics work together. Constantly blending live music, video, voice, solos, chorus work, performances, tastings, masks, this outside-the-box presentation will surprise us by its capacity to open up our relationship to performance, to the terrain and the party which is for us part of theatre!

Theatrical workshops for the les Habitants project
With the project les Habitants, begun last season, the directors Valéry Warnotte and Charlie Windelschmidt (AKA the 2W), associated with La Filature, seek to learn more about the relationship which the inhabitants of the city of Mulhouse have with their national Theatre, as well as with other cultural venues. Using meetings, interviews and workshops with different individuals and/or social groups from the projects, the 2W will pull together the material necessary for the creation of the défilé des Habitants programmed during the TRANS(E) Festival. For this, workshops have been organised by the University of Haute-Alsace, in partnership with the University Service of Cultural Action and the Association of Paralysed Persons in France, in a school or at a business venue.
