Wladyslaw Znorko is one of those canny sea dogs navigating in deep deep water, far from the usual currents and fashions, sailing at full speed with his own acute sense of theatrical poetry. His piece swings between reality and fantasy, subtitled “a risky voyage for an actress and two ghosts,” telling us the terrifying, delirious saga of a young woman named Bricole who abandons her life to go to Cape Horn, the giant ship graveyard, swept by powerful cross-winds, rising swells and cresting waves at the meeting point for the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Anything can happen in this space left to the whims and forces of nature. In fact, Cape Horn is the imagination of young Ms. Bricole, a space, lost in the middle of the surging waters, for hallucinations and strange apparitions, creating a world which does not resemble the one we know.
