Guy Alloucherie – Cie HVDZ

Romain Gintzen For seven years the HVDZ Company has traveled around the cities of France and abroad meeting the inhabitants of certain neighborhoods. For seven years it has organised Veillées (Watches), periods of time during which the persons visited and the traveling artists learned about each other, listened to each other, speaking about life, the world and art. This painstaking quest for thoughts and shared words has now become an agora spectacle, Les Atomics. It is a kind of circular conference in which actors, dancers and circus artists exchange words, images and movements, and in which we discover moving, even overwhelming portraits of certain characters. The artists are part of a new kind of work, documentary and poetic, juxtaposing the fiction of the theatre and the reality of those we call “the people.” These individuals are no longer anonymous, their words entering the public space of the stage, a citizens’ stage now.
