by Denis Lachaud – Jean-Philippe Naas
This piece is exclusively conceived and performed by men, and it is about a universal subject: love. What do men reveal when they speak of their feelings? And when they are together how do they express themselves? The stage is a gym, the place where these bodies move freely, undress, hang out together. It is an open space where video images of the actors are projected, images of the actors at their most private, images which enter into dialogue with the writer’s words, words which run together, monologues, exchanges which erupt unexpectedly. After two years in residency at the François Villon school in Mulhouse, the company brings us Les grands plateaux. Unlike some of our new media which broadcasts endless obscene comments and images, these artists make love their priority, at least for the length of the performance.
