Les mots sont des fleurs de néant. Je t’aime.

by Richard Brautigan – Luc-Antoine Diquéro

Luc-Antoine Diquéro is one of the most physical actors in French theatre. With his strong, vibrant presence, he stands out onstage as well as in film. He is one of those actors who knows how to disappear into a role, bringing out unexpected, powerful emotions. His acting style is unpredictable, half-way between gentleness and threat. Here he reunites with his friend the musician Marc Delhaye with whom he shared credit on the production of For the good times, Elvis, presented at La Filature. Now he is taking on the poetry of the great 20th century American poet Richard Brautigan. Brautigan is most known for his novel Trout Fishing in America and Dreaming of Babylon: A private eye novel. But Luc-Antoine Diquéro was interested in a different work by the bard of the Beat Generation, The Return of the woman of Troy, the poet’s last work, written in 1982 in the form of a diary. Brautigan took his own life in 1984. Onstage the two artists transcend the text with tenderness, irony and humour.
