Mounqaliba
She is the muse of Eastern pop: Natacha Atlas, the English-Egyptian singer, presents her latest, Mounqaliba. Here she continues her return to her own sources, a journey already begun in her previous work, with Eastern sounds blending with Western touches. Her fluid compositions and her keening chants are more melancholy than ever, evoking the chaos of a world gone crazy. Her clear soprano voice brings together Arabic, Persian, Hindi and Western sounds. From the very beginning of the concert, she invites us into her universe, sensitive, enchanted, darkly mysterious. Surrounded by a group of excellent musicians, Natacha Atlas, like a goddess seeking her own Grail, has reached the summit of her art.
