Ambra Senatore
The young Italian choreographer Ambra Senatore trained with Carolyn Carlson and Bill T. Jones and also worked with Jean-Claude Gallotta. Passo, her latest work, is based on the observation of customary events. Between fiction and reality, her choreography consists of the incessant, unplanned variations which change our sensations and change the way things happen. Perceptions can be deceiving, surprises unsettling and permanent. A master of the aerial pose, Ambra Senatore directs her dancers, filled with a unique energy and playing with elements of doubt and astonishment. Falls, repeats, breaks and unexpected movements are all part of this compelling dance, with moments of improvisation, pure and free.
