Guilherme Botelho – Cie Alias
This hypnotic choreographic work oppresses and fascinates at the same time. And it is true that the running, the walking, the rolling, the galloping of the dancers gives us the sensation of perpetual movement encompassing the entire stage. A sculptor of rhythm and space, Guilherme Botelho sets off a pulsing impassioned dance with fourteen artists. The electronic music mixes with sentimental songs, a dancer standing facing the wind before being swept up in an infernal machine. The brute force driving our lives is set into whirling motion, a metaphor for life, a superb moment of collective language and poetic ramble, this piece places Man, like a wisp of straw, in the middle of a continual flow sweeping over him and carrying him farther and farther away.
